The D-MAT, acronym for Digital Material, is a new standardised system for the transfer of TV commercials in digital form. Initiated by the Association Belge des Médias Audiovisuels (ABMA) [the Belgian Association for Audiovisual Media], the process only accumulates advantages: standardised, fast, sure and ecological.
Paprika is one of the companies that has been selected for the launch of the project (1 September 2008). Since the start of the adventure (February 2008), we have been convinced of the advantages of this system that is definitely focused on the future. Therefore, we have done our utmost to improve the integration of this system in our workflow. For this purpose, we have invested in a station, entirely dedicated to D-MAT as well as a new high speed SDSL internet connection.
The tapes are finished, every commercial ad is directly supplied via the internet to the control rooms by means of a secured connection. So couriers' delays are a thing of the past because within a few minutes, we can deliver your film to the entire Belgian advertising management. The receipts guarantee the correct reception of the files. Direct consequence of the dematerialisation is that we avoid the dispersion of a large quanity of CO2 on our planet, which was previously produced by the hundreds of courier runs per year.
In order to guarantee you an optimum quality for the encoding of D-MAT, we have created a data sheet that you must consult before sending us your film: : D-mat_technical_recommendations.pdf.
